(kivitv.com) — Students in Twin Falls' largest school district returned to class under a new, state‑mandated daily moment of silence that began at Oregon Trail Elementary. Staff say the one‑minute pause helps kids settle in, while families reported an enthusiastic, tear‑free first day back across the Twin Falls community.

Twin Falls schools kick off 2026-27 school year with dedicated security at every campus (kivitv.com) — Twin Falls families are sending 9,000 students back to class this year with armed security now present at every school in the district. Seven Twin Falls Police SROs cover secondary and multiple elementary campuses, while each elementary also has its own guard, part of a closer day‑to‑day partnership between the district and city police.

Wilder could become first Idaho city to ban license plate reader cameras; petition forces vote (ktvb.com) — Twin Falls' use of license plate reader cameras is under new scrutiny as privacy advocates push cities to restrict how data is stored, shared, and used to train AI. Wilder faces a vote on banning the technology, while Twin Falls' police chief has urged the council to tighten its Flock Safety contract and has already disabled a nationwide lookup feature after concerns about outside access.
