The Cary-Grove Masonic Lodge 1157 will be holding its annual “Pack the Pantry” event Labor Day weekend at Mariano’s in Crystal Lake on Saturday September 5.
Freemasons with a group of Cub Scouts will be handing out “shopping lists” to those entering the store.
The lists contained suggested food and household staples. Shoppers are asked to buy an item or two and deposit them in shopping carts positioned just outside the store.
The results typically gather several grocery carts filled to overflowing.
Everything will be delivered to the Cary-Grove Food Pantry for sorting and redistribution to pantry recipients.
