Police quickly stopped the vehicle, confirmed the man was the girl's father, and reported that both were safe, while praising residents for taking potential child safety concerns seriously. 
• Cary woman allegedly hit, dragged motorcyclist while under the influence in Algonquin (shawlocal.com) — A serious DUI-related crash in Algonquin left a motorcyclist hospitalized with significant injuries after a car allegedly struck and dragged him near the Route 31 bypass and South Main Street. Prosecutors and Algonquin police describe conflicting accounts of what happened, while a judge released the accused driver with alcohol-monitoring conditions ahead of an October court date.
