Schaumburg Resident Charged With Attempted Murder In Loop Stabbing: Chicago PD

The 26-year-old victim was seriously injured in last week's incident.

CHICAGO — A Schaumburg man has been charged with attempted first-degree murder following a stabbing last week in Chicago's Loop neighborhood. Alejandro Tellez, 36, of the 1000 block of N. Knollwood Drive, was also charged with aggravated battery (great bodily harm), aggravated battery (use of a deadly weapon).

According to Chicago police, Tellez was arrested at around 9:20 p.m. May 14, in the 100 block of N. La Salle Street, after being identified for reportedly stabbing and seriously injuring a 26-year-old man.

Tellez is due in court Thursday and remains in the Cook County Jail.
