2 Aurora Men Arrested In Separate Possession Of Child Sex Abuse Materials Cases: APD

AURORA, IL — Two Aurora men were charged with a combined 31 felony counts related to months-long possession of child sexual assault materials investigations, police said Wednesday.

Dustin J. Rumple, 28, and 27-year-old Renso Palomo were taken into custody in late June following multiple search warrant executions and extensive digital forensic investigations.

The investigations were conducted by Aurora Police detectives assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force . The Special Operations Group, Community-Oriented Policing Unit, digital forensic investigators and other specialized personnel assisted.

In February, police received a cybertip through the Internet Crimes Against Children data system about a suspected case of possession of child sexual abuse material. Detectives executed multiple search warrants for online accounts, ultimately identifying Rumple as the suspect, according to a news release.

Detectives executed a search warrant June 23 at Rumple's residence in the 800 block of Taylor Avenue. A forensic examination of his electronic devices revealed several files depicting child sexual abuse material "involving very young children," police said.

Police took Rumple into custody without incident. The Kane County State's Attorney's Office approved these charges against him:

• Four counts of possession of child sexual abuse material — victim under 13 years of age
• Two counts of possession of child sexual abuse material – victim under 17 years of age

In October 2025, Aurora police received another cybertip, this one from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, about the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material. The investigation led detectives to identify Palomo as the suspect.

At the time, Palomo was on probation following a previous conviction for indecent solicitation of a child.

On June 25, detectives executed search warrants at residences in the 100 block of North Root Street and the 1000 block of East Benton Street, which led to the Kane County state's attorney approving the following 25 charges against Palomo.

• Two counts of reproduction by computer of child sexual abuse material
• Four counts of producing depictions of child sexual abuse materials
• Dissemination of child sexual abuse material
• 10 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material
• Four counts of sexual exploitation of a child
• Three counts of violation of sex offender registration requirements
• Violation of sex offender residency restrictions

Palomo was arrested without incident and taken to the Kane County jail, where he remains in custody pending a court hearing scheduled for July 2.
