• Multiple arrests made, firearms and drugs recovered in separate investigations this week, Aurora police say (chicagotribune.com) — Aurora police report several arrests this week after traffic stops and a search warrant turned up multiple firearms, large quantities of suspected drugs, and ammunition at local locations. Residents may notice increased enforcement as officers target illegal guns and narcotics, with several Aurora suspects now facing serious felony charges and upcoming court dates in Kane County.
   

• Aurora City Council approves plan for hotel near Hollywood Casino site (chicagotribune.com) — Aurora's City Council has approved a 124-room extended-stay hotel near the new Hollywood Casino and Chicago Premium Outlets, adding new lodging and tax revenue to the Farnsworth Avenue corridor. Developers accepted security meetings with police, parking limits, and added meeting space after aldermen raised concerns about extended-stay hotel impacts and long-term corridor plans.
   

• Dubuque Selected to Join 'Love Your Block,' Partnering with Residents to Improve Neighborhoods (dubuqueinpursuitnews.com) — Aurora has been selected as one of 25 cities in the Love Your Block program, bringing funding and expert support to resident-led neighborhood improvement projects. While the announcement centers on Dubuque, Aurora will share in mini-grants and guidance aimed at cleaning up public spaces, boosting community pride, and strengthening ties between residents and City Hall over the coming years.
