• Aurora launches solar power program that could lower utility costs for some residents (chicagotribune.com) — Aurora has opened enrollment for a new community solar program that could cut participating residents' electric bills by about $105 a year while also saving the city roughly $80,000 annually on its own energy costs. Two city-linked solar fields near Aurora Municipal Airport and Route 30 will power about 1,300 local subscribers, with sign-ups handled through Ampion on a first-come basis.
   

• Homes at or under $400,000 in DuPage / Cook County, Aug. 24-30 (shawlocal.com) — A three-bedroom, two-bath single-family home at 3020 Middlebury Court in Aurora sold in August for $400,000, or about $230 per square foot. The regional roundup also lists similarly priced homes in Flossmoor, Winfield, Des Plaines, and Naperville, giving Aurora buyers and sellers a clear sense of how their market compares across DuPage and Cook counties.
   

• Aurora, IL: Semi Truck Crash Shuts Down I-88, Causes Hours of Traffic Backups (theunionstar.com) — Drivers around Aurora saw major delays Thursday when a semi-truck hit a bridge on I-88, shutting down lanes and backing up traffic from near Eola Road in Aurora to North Washington Street in Naperville. One person was hospitalized, all lanes reopened by late afternoon, and officials may still adjust traffic as they complete inspections and any needed repairs.
