• Prairie Pride Coalition awarded grant for LGBTQ+ programs (centralillinoisproud.com) — A new $10,000 grant is funding expanded LGBTQ+ health, recovery, and safety services for residents in Bloomington and across McLean County. Prairie Pride Coalition’s PRISM program will offer transportation to care, vocal therapy support through ISU, a dedicated LGBTQ+ recovery group, and law-enforcement awareness training through April 2027. 
• Red Cross offers assistance to those affected by severe weather (centralillinoisproud.com) — Following recent severe weather in and around Bloomington, the Red Cross is urging residents to prioritize family safety, prepare go-bags, and report home damage like flooding or roof issues. Locals impacted by storms can call 1-800-RED-CROSS to learn what recovery help and resources are available.
• Storm topples trees in Champaign, knocks out power in Farmer City, ruptures gas lines in Danville (news-gazette.com) — Powerful storms that toppled trees and cut power in Champaign, Farmer City, and Danville also produced dramatic post-storm skies over Bloomington. While most reported damage centered east of McLean County, Bloomington residents saw rainbows, lightning, and ominous clouds as the system moved through central Illinois Thursday evening.
