• Brookfield 10-U baseball reaches state semifinals (rblandmark.com) — Brookfield’s 10-and-under Minors all-star baseball team battled through wildfire delays, rainouts, and late-night doubleheaders to reach the state semifinals before falling to Elmhurst. The boys practiced at Overholt Field during a one-week gap, with families even postponing vacations so the full roster could compete. Coaches and players say the run has them hungry for an even deeper push next year.
