• Buffalo Grove Senator Seeks Nominations To Honor Veterans, Active-Duty Members (patch.com) — Buffalo Grove residents are being asked to nominate local veterans, active-duty service members, and those who support them for State Sen. Adriane Johnson's 30 Wonders of the 30th District honors. The 2026 program features multiple categories, from Veteran of the Year to Vetrepreneur and Homefront Hero, with nominations due Aug. 30 and winners to be celebrated at a community recognition event.
   

• Buffalo Grove Student Gains Career Experience Through Alabama Co-Op Program (patch.com) — A Buffalo Grove student, Andrew Maloney, is gaining valuable career experience through the University of Alabama's Cooperative Education Program. Extra patrols will focus on alcohol, cannabis, other impairing drugs, and seat belt use for all passengers, with officers stressing planning ahead and using sober drivers to keep Buffalo Grove residents safe.
