📰 News we're reading

• Buffalo Grove Students Named To SNHU Summer Honors Lists (patch.com) — Buffalo Grove families can celebrate three local students earning spots on Southern New Hampshire University's Summer 2026 honors lists. Toniqua Bolden made the Dean's List, while Daniel Yun and Paulo Jefferson Guilas achieved the higher President's List distinction, reflecting strong full-time academic performance.

• Buffalo Grove Manager Bragg Gets Five More Years (journal-topics.com) — Buffalo Grove's village board has extended Village Manager Dane Bragg's contract through September 2031, locking in annual raises, retirement benefits, and strong severance protections while restricting him from managing nearby towns for a year if he resigns. Trustees praised his role in maintaining the village's AAA bond rating, heavy infrastructure investment, and strong pension funding, saying residents benefit from stable leadership and controlled taxes.

• Buffalo Grove Park tagged with Nazi symbol (dailyherald.com) — Buffalo Grove officials are investigating after a swastika was carved into the basketball court at Reiner Park, apparently by a spinning e-bike, in what they say fits a broader pattern of e-bike vandalism at several village parks. With no cameras or suspects yet identified, police and the Park District are urging residents to call 911 if they see illegal activity, offering rewards up to $1,000 for tips leading to an arrest and conviction.
