• Fire Temporarily Closes Shopping Center In Buffalo Grove (journal-topics.com) — A pre-dawn fire at Samarkand Café on West Dundee Road forced the temporary closure of multiple units in a Buffalo Grove strip mall due to smoke and water damage. Firefighters quickly contained the blaze despite difficult humidity, and no injuries were reported. Investigators from the state fire marshal and Buffalo Grove police are still determining the cause.
   

• Flag football Recap: Buffalo Grove Now 10-3 over Last 13 Games (maxpreps.com) — Buffalo Grove's flag football team continued its strong run with an 18-0 shutout of Mundelein, improving to 4-2 this season and 10 wins in their last 13 games. The Bison's offense has averaged nearly 27 points over that stretch. They'll look to keep the momentum going on the road Tuesday night against Glenbrook North.
