Burr Ridge Mayor Returns Indicted Restaurateur's Campaign Donations (patch.com) — Burr Ridge residents are seeing renewed scrutiny of Mayor Gary Grasso's political ties after he decided to return $2,000 in campaign donations from local restaurateur Filippo "Gigi" Rovito, who faces federal gambling charges in Indiana. The move follows earlier controversy over a larger donation from Rovito and highlights ongoing criticism of Grasso's relationship with the Burr Ridge businessman and his establishments Capri Ristorante and Are We Live nightclub.

Burr Ridge Village Hall's Opening Delayed By 6 Months At Least (patch.com) — Burr Ridge's long-planned new Village Hall is now expected to open as late as March 2028, at least six months behind the original schedule. Village officials approved a $300,000 project management contract, are navigating cross-county permitting issues, and continue operating from temporary locations while the $7.5 million, debt-free facility is built next to the police station.

For Burr Ridge Mayor, A Campaign Ad That Writes Itself (patch.com) — Burr Ridge residents are seeing their village property tax eliminated after the board unanimously voted to zero it out while raising the local sales tax by three‑quarters of a percent, generating about $1 million more a year. Mayor Gary Grasso, now running for DuPage County Board chair, plans to highlight the tax shift and potential funding for two additional police officers as he faces a well‑funded Democratic incumbent in a changing political landscape.
   

4. Burr Ridge Official's Tax Stance Bother Colleagues, Who Defend Village Finances (patch.com) — Burr Ridge homeowners will no longer pay a village property tax after trustees unanimously voted to eliminate it and raise the sales tax by three‑quarters of a percent, adding about $1 million in annual revenue.
