• Inside Byron's nuclear plant after major turbine work (wrex.com) — Major turbine upgrades at the Byron Clean Energy Center are part of an $800 million investment to boost power output and modernize the local nuclear plant. Workers completed Unit 1’s low-pressure turbine overhaul, with similar work on Unit 2 planned for this fall. Plant leaders also noted all employees are back on the job after last month’s chemical exposure incident.
