• Celebrate National Direct Support Professionals Recognition Week with DSC (wandtv.com) — Champaign's Developmental Services Center is marking National Direct Support Professionals Recognition Week, starting today and running through Sept. 19, to honor workers who support residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Urbana's mayor will issue a proclamation to kick off the week, followed by a similar recognition from Champaign's mayor, underscoring how vital DSPs are to helping neighbors live, work, and thrive locally.
   

• Digitization grant to help preserve Air Force base history (news-gazette.com) — Champaign County residents will soon get easier online access to rare records from Rantoul's former Chanute Air Force Base, thanks to a $5,000 digitization grant for the Champaign County Historical Archives at the Urbana Free Library. The project will preserve aging tapes documenting local military and cultural history and culminate in a 2027 public screening of newly digitized footage for area history buffs.
