Champaign County opens early voting for Nov. 3 election (sjodaily.com) — Champaign County voters can start casting early ballots on Sept. 24 at the Bennett Center in Urbana, with 11 more locations in Champaign, Savoy, Mahomet, and other towns opening Oct. 19. You can vote at any early-voting site regardless of precinct, but once you cast an early ballot, state law doesn't allow you to change it or vote again on Election Day.
   

2. Champaign Co. Circuit Clerk hosting Amnesty Week in October (wcia.com) — Champaign County residents who owe on criminal, traffic, DUI, ordinance, or conservation cases can get late and collection fees waived during Amnesty Week, Oct. 19–30. You can request a quote by email, look up case numbers online, and pay in person in Urbana or online using the special Amnesty Week payment option.
   

3. One Tragedy Sparked a Mission to Protect Champaign Families (foxillinois.com) — Champaign residents can join a smoke alarm blitz this Saturday at New Hope Church on West Bradley Avenue, where volunteers will install and test free alarms in about 170 homes. The effort, inspired by a Parkland student who died in a 2016 Champaign house fire, has already placed more than 1,000 alarms and aims to reduce serious recent fires without working detectors.

Only three of 66 stations offered E15, and local prices tracked slightly above the Illinois average while reflecting broader national fuel market swings.
