• New home, new name for annual music fest (illinoistimes.com) — Chatham residents can enjoy a free, family-friendly Sangamo Brewing Summer Fest this Saturday, June 13, from 2–8 p.m. at Sangamo Brewing Co. on East Mulberry Street. With a full lineup of local bands and a relaxed atmosphere, it’s an easy walk-or-drive option for an afternoon and evening of live music close to home.
   

• Giannoulias launches New Digital Library Program for all Residents (thetimesweekly.com) — Chatham Public Library users now get free access to a huge new statewide digital collection of e-books, journals, and research databases through Illinois’ IRIS program. Library director Amy Byers says the state-funded contract eases budget pressure from staffing and building costs while greatly expanding what Chatham residents can read and research online at no extra cost to local taxpayers.
   

• Appenzeller Earns Freshman All-America Honors from Perfect Game (newstalk987.com) — A Chatham native is making waves in college baseball, as Tennessee pitcher Cam Appenzeller has been named a Perfect Game Freshman All-American. His standout season included a 6-1 record, dominant SEC performances, and an invitation to the USA Collegiate National Team Training Camp, giving Chatham sports fans a rising star to follow.
