Times of sun and clouds. High: 86 Low: 66.
Here are the top three stories in Chicago today:
- In a robbery attempt on Chicago's Northwest Side, two unknown suspects shot and tried to rob a 52-year-old postal carrier on Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. on North Kildare Avenue, where one of the offenders discharged a firearm, hitting the victim in the leg. The mail carrier was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital in critical condition, while postal inspectors and area detectives are investigating, but no suspects have been arrested yet. (CBS News)
- Authorities are seeking public assistance in locating 16-year-old Thoudens Goldman, who went missing at O'Hare airport. He was last seen at 10:00 p.m. on Monday, not boarding his connecting flight. Described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 148 pounds, and wearing black sweatpants with a light blue sweatshirt featuring a white Nike symbol, Goldman was carrying a gray Adidas backpack. If you have any information, please contact the police at (312) 746-6554. (Patch)
- Notorious serial scammer Candace Clark was released on parole, serving less than half of her five-year sentence for multiple felony charges including theft by deception and impersonating a state employee. CBS 2's investigations exposed her elaborate deceptions, including posing as the director of Special Investigations for the State of Illinois and living rent-free in luxury homes while owing landlords over $300,000. Clark was arrested by Chicago police after using forged documents to secure rental properties in Lincoln Park, accumulating more than $80,000 in unpaid rent. (CBS Chicago)
