1. 14 Shot, 1 Killed In Chicago Mass Shooting: Police (patch.com) — Chicago residents are reeling after a late-night mass shooting on the South Side left one man dead and 13 others wounded while officers were dispersing a crowd on South Cottage Grove Avenue. Victims, ranging from their early 20s to late 40s, were taken to several hospitals including the University of Chicago, and detectives are now investigating the attack.
   

2. Chicago Home Invasion, Gunpoint Robbery Leads To Arrest: PD (patch.com) — Chicago police say a 60-year-old Calumet City man was arrested shortly after a reported home invasion and armed robbery of four men inside a residence on South La Salle Street in the 5th District. Officers took him into custody on South Wentworth Avenue and charged him with multiple felony counts of armed robbery and home invasion as the investigation continues.

The Chicago-focused study suggests local clinicians and residents should watch for a wider range of health issues during very hot stretches.
