• Bloom Township inspection finds pipe failures on flood-prone 188th Place (thelansingjournal.org) — From right here in Chicago Heights, Bloom Township officials say a failed 100-foot stretch of pipe is likely behind chronic flooding on 188th Place in unincorporated Lansing, and repairs will require engineering and competitive bidding. While residents push for faster action after repeated street pump-outs, recent storms also tore part of the roof off the pavilion at Glenwood's Veterans Memorial Park, now awaiting an insurance inspection.
