Crews are installing new copper lines and hydrants at no cost to homeowners for the public-side work, and the town is seeking more funding toward an estimated $200 million systemwide overhaul. 
• Chicago man sentenced to 18 years for Blue Line robbery spree that ended with Uber carjacking (cwbchicago.com) — A Chicago man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for a string of armed robberies on CTA Blue Line trains and a violent Uber carjacking, and he also received a concurrent two-year term tied to a robbery in Cicero. The plea deal bundled multiple cases, with some charges dropped, and his projected release date is in March 2037.
