2 Arrested After Car Crashes Into Smoke Shop During Burglary: Police
Authorities say a man and woman used a vehicle to break into a Crystal Lake smoke shop before being taken into custody on burglary charges.
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — A man and a woman are facing charges after police say they used a vehicle to smash through the front of a Crystal Lake smoke shop during a burglary.
Investigators say the incident happened at the Smoke Depot on Angela Lane, where a car was driven into the building as a way to gain entry to the business, according to the Lake & McHenry County Scanner. Police say Victor A. Diaz, 24, of Crystal Lake, and Geneva A. Orive, 25, of Elgin, were both taken into custody following the incident and charged with one count of burglary, a Class 2 felony.
No injuries were reported in the crash, but the Smoke Depot sustained extensive damage, according to the report.
