Man Accused Of Punching Woman At Crystal Lake Festival Arrested

Thomas Craft is accused of repeatedly hitting a woman and pulling her hair during an incident at Lakeside Festival in Crystal Lake.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — A Crystal Lake man with a lengthy criminal history was arrested after police said he repeatedly punched a woman and pulled her hair during an incident at the Lakeside Festival in Crystal Lake.

Thomas D. Craft, 58, is charged with domestic battery causing bodily harm, domestic battery involving physical contact and obstructing identification, according to court records. Prosecutors allege Craft punched the woman in the face multiple times, causing an abrasion to the inside of her lip, and pulled her hair in public view around 9:45 p.m. on July 5 at the festival, the Lake & McHenry County Scanner is reporting.

Police said Craft initially provided officers with a false name and date of birth when they responded, and he remains in custody pending a court hearing.
