No Ticket For Deputy Who Crashes Squad Car In McHenry Co.: Authorities

A Lake County Sheriff’s squad car was involved in a crash near Woodstock after wet road conditions were believed to have contributed to the vehicle leaving the roadway and hit a utility pole.

The collision happened on May 4 in the area of Charles Road and Timberline Trail while the deputy was driving a county squad car, according to the Lake & McHenry County Scanner. Both the deputy and a passenger were evaluated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

The deputy did not receive a citation following the collision, which remains under investigation.
