Nearby Somerfield Lane sales show similar three- and four-bedroom homes closing between $375,000 and $510,000, giving Crystal Lake homeowners and buyers a useful snapshot of current neighborhood prices per square foot.

'Great sadness': McHenry school district board member, former Crystal Lake teacher dies after lifelong service in education (lakemchenryscanner.com) — A longtime Crystal Lake South High School teacher and McHenry School District 15 board member, Arne Waltmire, has died after a five-year battle with cancer. Waltmire, remembered for his decades of service to Crystal Lake students and McHenry families, will be honored with visitation and funeral services Saturday at First United Methodist Church of McHenry.
