Residents encouraged to participate in community health survey for Macon and Moultrie counties (maconreporter.com) — Residents in Decatur and across Macon and Moultrie counties are being asked to complete a community health survey by Oct. 31 that will guide future hospital programs and services. HSHS St. Mary's and Decatur Memorial say past surveys led to cancer screening initiatives and social service referrals, and they're again relying on local feedback to set priorities.

'Heartbroken to hear that news': Decatur's Oasis Day Resource Center shuts down (wcia.com) — A longtime Decatur day shelter, the Oasis Day and Resource Center, is closing after nearly 30 years, ending its role as a daytime refuge for people experiencing homelessness. Services are shifting to Heritage Behavioral Health Center on North Main Street, while groups like Dove and the Salvation Army are being urged to help fill the gap and join homelessness planning efforts.
