• Decatur Fire responds to two residential structure fires during overnight hours (wandtv.com) — Overnight between Oct. 7 and 8, Decatur firefighters battled two serious house fires on West Grand Avenue and East Main Street, both involving heavy smoke and flames. No injuries were reported, but one resident is receiving Red Cross assistance while investigators work to determine the causes. Multiple local agencies, including Decatur Police and Ameren Illinois, supported the response.
