Meth Bust Made During Residential Burglary Investigation: Riverwoods PD Blotter

Riverwoods police were assisting the Bannockburn Police Department in an investigation into the burglary that had just occurred there.

RIVERWOODS, IL — The following information comes from the Riverwoods Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

  • Guillermo Moreno, 40, of the 600 block of Pearson Street, Des Plaines, is accused of speeding, driving while license revoked, driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested at 12:10 a.m. April 22, near Lake Cook and Portwine roads. He was released and assigned a court date of May 21.
  • David E. Ezekiel, 67, of the 3700 block of Persimmon Drive, Algonquin, is accused of speeding, DUI alcohol, and was arrested at 11:20 p.m. April 25, for speeding, DUI alcohol, and was arrested at 11:20 p.m. April 25, near Lake Cook Road and CCH Drive. He was released and assigned a court date of May 21.
  • Cristian E. Castro, 32, of the 600 block of Ziegler Drive, Grayslake, is accused of speeding, driving while license suspended, operation of a motor vehicle while registration is suspended for non insurance, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, DUI alcohol, and was arrested at 3:41 a.m. April 18, near Lake Cook and Portwine roads. He was released and assigned a court day of May 14.
  • Jorge Mario Torvar Mendoza, 24, of the 5700 block of N. Artesian Avenue, Chicago, is accused of speeding, reckless driving, open transportation of alcohol, DUI alcohol, and was arrested at 2:53 a.m. April 13, near Lake Cook and Portwine roads. He was released and assigned a court date of May 14.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

Anthony Miller, 29, of the 3000 block of N. Ashland Avenue, Chicago, is accused of residential burglary, and was arrested at 1:09 a.m. April 25, following an investigation into an incident that had just occurred in Bannockburn. Riverwoods police turned Miller over to the Bannockburn Police Department following his arrest.

UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE

Alexander B. Garcia, 36, of the 5500 block of Oakton Street, Morton Grove, is accused of unlawful possession of methamphetamine, had a two-count warrant out of Cook County for failing to appear on previous DUI and driving while license suspended charges, and was arrested at 1:09 a.m. April 25, April 25. He was arrested during th investigation into the previously mentioned residential burglary. Garcia was released on the methamphetamine charge and was assigned a court date of May 11. Garcia was taken to the Lake County Jail to await pickup by Cook County for the warrant charges.

BATTERY

Daniel H. Vander, 41, of the 1000 block of Greenwood Avenue, Deerfield, is accused of battery, and was arrested at 1:23 p.m. April 19, at Deerfield Road and Thornmeadow Lane. Police responded to a report of a fight between motorists. Vander was released and assigned a court date of May 18.
