Riverwoods Launching Community Survey To Help Shape Village Priorities

RIVERWOODS, IL — Residents will soon have a chance to weigh in on the village's priorities through a new online community survey launching Aug. 20.

Village officials said the survey is intended to help guide future decision-making by measuring residents' interests, needs and expectations.

“We've seen some changes in our community and in our environment since 2015,” Mayor Kristine Ford said. “The results of this survey will aid the Village Board in making decisions based upon our residents’ expressed interests, desires, and expectations.”

The survey opens Thursday, Aug. 20, and closes Thursday, Sept. 3.

Ford said participation will be important in shaping future priorities.

“Resident participation is critical in shaping the Village's future,” she said. “We hope that every Riverwoods household takes the time to complete the survey. Participation matters.”

Survey Builds On 2015 Effort

The new survey follows Riverwoods' first community survey in 2015.

Village officials said a series of individual interviews and focus groups helped shape the questions in the latest survey, along with feedback and findings from the 2015 effort.

The village described the survey as part of an ongoing effort to strategically identify and prioritize community needs both now and in the future.

How To Participate

Riverwoods households are expected to receive a letter in mid-August with a link to the online survey and instructions for completing it.

Responses will be anonymous, according to the village.
