DeKalb Council Reviews Changes To City Boards And Commissions (1023thecoyote.net) ā DeKalbās City Council has advanced an ordinance that would overhaul several volunteer boards, reactivating the Human Relations Commission with local social-service leaders and eliminating the long-inactive Landmark Commission. The measure also lets key citizen boards meet only as needed instead of monthly. It passed 5ā3 on first reading and returns for a final vote in two weeks.

New study to look at planning, environment (shawlocal.com) ā DeKalb is taking a major step toward potential commuter rail service by hiring TY Lin International to study safety, environmental impacts, and feasibility for a line between Elburn and DeKalb. The free event explored Cambodiaās struggle to reclaim looted artifacts, the global art market that enabled trafficking, and the cultural and spiritual importance of returning statues to their communities.
