Man Charged After Lunging At Officer In Des Plaines: Police (patch.com) — Des Plaines police say a man previously banned from the Holiday Inn on South Mannheim Road lunged at an officer while being questioned late Saturday night. Officers subdued and arrested him, and prosecutors approved a felony aggravated assault to a peace officer charge, along with resisting and trespass misdemeanors. He was cited and released with a future court date.

IDNR seeks witnesses to Lisle man boating before fatal Fox River crash near McHenry (shawlocal.com) — State conservation police are seeking boaters who may have seen a speeding pontoon boat before a Fox River crash that killed a Des Plaines woman on July 25. Investigators recently upgraded charges against the Lisle man accused of operating the boat, and they're asking anyone who recognizes a specific boat in a bystander video to contact them with tips.
