Village To Review Traffic Control, Speed Limit Changes For Area Near Fairview And 75th
The proposed changes include improvements for pedestrian and bicycle safety.
DOWNER GROVE, IL — The Downers Grove Village Council is set to review proposed traffic control and speed limit changes and bike and pedestrian safety measures for the area bounded by Fairview Avenue and Main Street east and west and 63rd Street and 75th Street north and south.
The recommended changes come after a neighborhood traffic study in May that involved evaluating traffic volumes and vehicle speeds, pedestrian and bicycle counts during peak hours, existing speed and traffic control measures and other data.
The changes were unanimously approved for recommendation by the village's transportation and parking commission in September.
