Edwardsville Goshen Commons groundbreaking downtown park (theintelligencer.com) — A new pedestrian-focused park called Goshen Commons is officially moving forward in downtown Edwardsville, with a groundbreaking set for Monday, April 20. The project will turn a block of St. Louis Street into green space, gathering areas, and event space, funded partly by a special sales tax and state support. Construction has begun, with the park expected to open this fall and eventually welcome back the Land of Goshen Community Market.

Madison County Board Rejects Apollo Properties Rezoning Request (riverbender.com) — Madison County Board members meeting in Edwardsville have rejected a rezoning request for a small Granite City property that would have allowed more apartments, voting 20-3 after strong neighborhood opposition. Residents cited concerns about property upkeep and safety around a large dumpster, while the owner hoped to convert vacant commercial space into two additional units. This is the second time in nine years the board has denied rezoning there.
