Residents near Beecher City, Shumway, Jewett, Greenup, and along I‑57 and I‑70 are urged to move to interior rooms and stay alert for possible tornado development.
   

• Effingham Noon Rotary Scholarship Recipients Announced (effinghamradio.com) — Effingham Noon Rotary has named its 2026 scholarship winners, honoring seniors from Effingham High School and St. Anthony for academics, activities, and community involvement. Each student receives a $1,000 award, continuing a long-running local program that has now provided $65,000 in support to Effingham’s college-bound graduates.
   

• Daniel Lawrence Meinhart (84) of Island Grove - Effingham's News and Sports Leader, 979XFM and KJ Country 102.3 (thexradio.com) — Family and friends are preparing to honor Island Grove farmer Daniel Lawrence Meinhart, who was born in Effingham and passed away Monday at age 84. Visitation is June 17 and Mass of Christian Burial June 18 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Island Grove, with memorials suggested to Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
