Elmhurst Man Cited For Hosting Underage Party: Police

In another case, a house in an Elmhurst neighborhood was reported burglarized, with two credit cards stolen.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving an underage drinking party, a house burglary, theft, a fake Apple employee, a reckless dirt bike rider and public drinking. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Underage drinking party

  • A 49-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 200 block of East South Street was cited about 10 p.m. Friday at his house on a charge of hosting an underage party where alcohol was served.

House burglary

  • A resident in the 600 block of North West Avenue told police that her back door was ajar and two credit cards were missing when she woke up Thursday. An investigation is pending.

Theft

  • Merle Norman Cosmetics, 251 N. York St., had been shipping cosmetic products to customers, but the packages had arrived opened, with items missing or boxes empty. The problem, which was reported Wednesday, started in October 2022. The business has informed the post office about it.

Fake Apple employee

  • A resident in the 600 block of South Hillside Avenue provided her credit card information on March 14 to someone who posed as an Apple employee. The suspect made fraudulent charges on the card. An investigation is pending.

Porch fire

  • The fire department responded to a porch fire about 3:30 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of South Pick Avenue. The fire was put out before firefighters arrived.

Reckless dirt bike rider

  • An officer tried to stop a dirt bike rider who was driving recklessly about 7 p.m. Sunday at York and Adelia streets. The suspect failed to stop, last seen heading north at Maple Avenue, near North Avenue.

Carrying beers

  • A 21-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 400 block of South York Street was cited about 2 a.m. Monday on a charge of possession of alcohol in public. Police said an officer saw the man walking with two beers in his hand at St. Charles Road and Cottage Hill Avenue.
