Fired Worker In Elmhurst Spashes Woman With Water: Cops

In another case, a man was charged with disorderly conduct after a dispute with a neighbor, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police charged people with battery, disorderly conduct, identity theft, possession of a stolen car, retail theft and DUI. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst charge log:

Battery

  • A 50-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 12:30 p.m. Friday on a battery charge. Police said the incident occurred at TransChicago Truck Group, 776 N. York St. The man, who was just fired, cleaned out his desk and then splashed a cup of water on a woman and cursed at her, police said. The man was released.

Disorderly conduct

  • A 53-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 100 block of West Butterfield Road was arrested about 5 p.m. Sunday at his home on a disorderly conduct charge. Police said the man went to a neighbor's door and tried to turn the door handle during a dispute. He was released.

Identity theft

  • Rachel Defrance, 43, of Chicago, was arrested Thursday on charges of identity theft, burglary without causing damage (two counts) and possession of a lost or mislaid credit card. Police said a man lost his credit card May 1 at BP gas station, 217 E. Butterfield Road, and then noticed unauthorized charges on his account. The woman was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

  • Emmanuel N. Adonteng Sr., 31, of Westmont, was arrested about 8:30 p.m. Friday at Interstate 290 and Route 83 on charges of possession of a stolen motor vehicle, theft of a rented vehicle and resisting an officer. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Soliciting without a permit

  • A 19-year-old Orlando, Florida, man was cited about 9 p.m. Friday in the 500 block of South Saylor Avenue on a charge of soliciting without a permit.

Retail theft

  • A 32-year-old Bellwood man was arrested about 6 p.m. Saturday on a retail theft charge. Police said the incident occurred at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83. He was released.

DUI

  • A 47-year-old Northlake man was arrested shortly before midnight Saturday at North and Clinton avenues on charges of DUI, unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver, improper lane usage and driving an uninsured car. He was taken to the police station and then released.
  • A 35-year-old Villa Park man was arrested about 11 p.m. Sunday at North Avenue and Willow Street on charges of DUI, improper lane usage and driving an uninsured car. He was taken to the police station and then released.
  • A 33-year-old Winfield man was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Monday at North Avenue and Emroy Street on charges of DUI, illegal transportation of liquor by a driver, improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash. He was taken to the police station and then released.
