• Dress Up '90s-Style At Mom Prom In Elmhurst (patch.com) — Elmhurst residents are invited to join a 90s-themed Mom Prom fundraiser created by local woman Dawn Pintsak to honor her late mother and support blood cancer research. The Oct. 3 event in nearby Maywood will feature music, dancing and decade-inspired outfits, with proceeds benefiting Blood Cancer United. Pintsak's family will also participate in the Western Suburban Light The Night walk later in October.
   

• Someone Sneaks Into Elmhurst House, Steals Wallet: Cops (patch.com) — Elmhurst police recently responded to a string of incidents, including a burglary where someone entered a South Hawthorne Avenue home through an unlocked door and stole a wallet and cash. Officers also handled domestic battery at a local nursing home, several DUIs, drug possession, retail theft at CVS, and a fugitive driver near I-290, offering residents a clear snapshot of current safety concerns.
   

• The CCIW Women's Tennis Notebook: Standings Update (cciw.org) — Elmhurst University's women's tennis team is just about to start its College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin schedule, while several rival schools already hold early wins.
