Elmhurst Continues Building Sidewalks Where Few Exist (patch.com) — Elmhurst residents on the northeast side can expect a new sidewalk along Van Auken Street by the end of the year, continuing the city's push to fill sidewalk gaps. Recent projects on Indiana Street and Crestview Avenue, championed by Ward 3 Alderman Michael Bram, aim to improve walkability in the ward with the fewest sidewalks.
   

2. Improve Elmhurst Debris Pickup After Storms To Help Residents: Officials (patch.com) — Elmhurst aldermen are urging the city to upgrade storm debris pickup so residents, especially seniors and people with disabilities, are not left with hazardous piles of branches after severe weather. They want clear criteria for citywide curbside collection of private debris, and the City Council will soon decide whether to study the proposal further.

Elmhurst Man Punches Neighbor's Window During Dispute: Police (patch.com) — Elmhurst residents can see a detailed rundown of recent police activity, including a York Street neighbor dispute where a man allegedly punched a kitchen window and several local disorderly conduct cases. The report also highlights multiple DUI and drug possession arrests on and around Elmhurst roads, with several suspects taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Elmhurst Cops May Have Stopped Gas Station Robbery (patch.com) — Elmhurst police may have interrupted a potential gas station crime after spotting suspicious cars, including one with a masked person covering a license plate, at the Thorntons on North York Street. The latest reports also detail a stolen car from Elm Creek Drive, a scam targeting a Butterfield Road resident, and a landlord-tenant dispute on South York Street.
   

5. Spring Road Getting Chicago Chain Restaurant: City (patch.com) — Elmhurst's Spring Road business district is getting a new Parlor Pizza Bar at the former Silverado Grill site, in a larger 7,000-square-foot building. Local restaurateur Anthony Gambino III, who also runs Doc's Victory Pub and other Elmhurst spots, is behind the project, which has been in city review since early 2025 and is now officially moving forward.
