The shooting was reported about 5 p.m. Oct. 4 near Lake Street and Neva Avenue, police said. The victims moved to the 500 block of West Stevens Drive, where an office saw a bullet hole in the driver's side rear fender and another in the lower center of the trunk, police said.
According to DuPage County prosecutors, the driver and two youths had been sitting in a vehicle in the 200 block of West Lake Street when the driver saw a man throwing gang signs toward him.

Prosecutors alleged the driver confronted the man, then drove to a business in the 300 block of West Lake Street to wait for his wife and daughter. In that parking lot, three people approached the car and one asked, "Which you is?" then said, "Count Love," and hit the rear driver's side passenger window with his hand, police said.
Prosecutors alleged that as the driver pulled out of the lot, one of the three kicked the rear bumper and the driver then heard three to four gunshots hit the car.
The trio then sped north on Neva Avenue in a red sedan, according to a news release from prosecutors. Investigators recovered four 9mm shell casings at the scene and later identified Orozco as the alleged shooter.
On Oct. 16, Addison detectives executed a search warrant at Orozco's home and found a gun box for a 9mm Ruger pistol, according to the news release. Investigators also found that Orozco purchased a Ruger RXM 9mm pistol on Nov. 28.
"Shooting at a moving vehicle in a busy commercial area, as alleged in this case, obviously not only puts the occupants of that vehicle in extreme danger, but also endangers other motorists as well as nearby shoppers and pedestrians," DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in the news release.
