Woman Accused In Elmhurst Of Aggravated Battery In Neighborhood

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving aggravated battery, domestic battery, trespassing, a fire and retail theft. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Aggravated battery

• Taylor Bonesz, 26, of Lockport, was arrested about 3:30 p.m. Saturday on charges of aggravated battery and obstructing an officer. Police said the incident occurred in the 500 block of North Indiana Street. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail. Police provided no other information about the case. Patch plans to file a public records request for the report.

Domestic battery

• A 33-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 800 block of North Geneva Avenue was arrested about 1 a.m. Saturday at his house on a domestic battery charge. Police said the man pulled on a victim's shirt collar and broke the person's glasses. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
• A 46-year-old Elmhurst woman who lives in the 100 block of Mayo Court was arrested about 9 p.m. Thursday at her house on a domestic battery charge. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Trespassing

• A 39-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 600 block of Fay Avenue was arrested about 10 p.m. Friday on a charge of criminal trespass to a residence. Police said the man was found sleeping in a house on his block. He was released. The man has been repeatedly arrested over the years. In June, the man was charged with theft of services after causing a disturbance and failing to pay for his meal at a restaurant, police said.
• A 60-year-old Villa Park man was arrested about 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Brewpoint Coffee, 124 W. Park Ave., on a criminal trespassing charge. Police said he violated a no-trespassing notice. He was released.

Fire

• Firefighters and officers responded to a fire about 9:30 a.m. Sunday in the 900 block of South Kirk Avenue. A backyard shed was fully engulfed in flames. The fire spread to the detached garage. The residents were evacuated from the home.

Retail theft

• A 29-year-old La Grange woman was arrested shortly before 10 p.m. Friday on a retail theft charge. Police said the woman took items off the shelf at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83, and then immediately returned them without ever buying them. She was released.
• A 36-year-old Bellwood woman was arrested about 12:30 p.m. Friday on a retail theft charge. Police said the incident occurred at Jewel, 944 S. York St. She was released.
