Woman Defrauds Another At Elmhurst University: Cops

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving fraud, domestic battery, a stolen car and a woman refusing to leave the hospital. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Fraud

• A 21-year-old Elmhurst student at Elmhurst University, 190 S. Prospect Ave., was arrested Monday on charges of identity theft and use of a credit or debit card with intent to defraud. Police said the incident occurred April 2 at the university. The victim said the suspect gained access to her bank account and withdrew money. She was released.

Domestic battery

• A 43-year-old Elmhurst woman who lives in the 200 block of North Elm Street was arrested about 7 p.m. Monday at her house on a domestic battery charge. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Stolen car

• Bryant M. Kinder, 49, of Chicago, was arrested 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road, on charges of receiving, possessing or selling a stolen car, driving an uninsured car and driving with expired plates. Police said an officer saw Kinder behind the wheel of a stolen car. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Refused to leave

• A 31-year-old Naperville woman was arrested about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday on a McLean County warrant for failure to appear in court. Police said they were called about the woman, who refused to leave Elmhurst Hospital. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
