Evanston remembers 9/11 (evanstonnow.com) — Evanston residents, officials and first responders gathered at Fireman's Park on Sept. 11 to mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11 with prayers, silence and reflections. Interim Fire Chief Matt Smith, local legislators, and former Mayor Steve Hagerty emphasized unity, everyday courage, and the responsibility to keep the story alive for younger Evanstonians who know less about that day.

Hotel linked to legionnaires' disease cases (evanstonnow.com) — Evanston's Health and Human Services Department is warning anyone who recently stayed at or visited the Hilton Garden Inn North Shore/Evanston on Maple Avenue and now has pneumonia-like symptoms to contact a medical provider. Two Legionnaires' disease cases are linked to the hotel, whose pool and hot tub are closed while water testing is underway. Residents can also reach the city health department directly for guidance.

4. The Seldoms Bring New Full-Length 'All at Once' To Evanston's Studio5 In October (patch.com) — Evanston's Studio5 Performing Arts Center will host the world premiere of The Seldoms' new Cubist-inspired dance work "All at Once" on Oct. 16 and 17, with evening performances on Dempster Street. The Chicago-based company marks its 25th anniversary with six dancers, three percussionists, striking costumes and an improvisational score, with tiered ticket prices for students, seniors, and supporters.
