EVERGREEN PARK, IL—Evergreen Park voters said YES to a $68 million bond referendum to build a new Central Middle School, to replace the existing 99-year-old building.

Voters were asked to decide on a binding referendum to issue bonds in the amount of $68 million. With all 12 precincts reporting, voters answered in the affirmative with 4,465 to 2,778, according to unofficial results.

On Tuesday morning before polls opened, Citizens for a New Central Middle School posted a message on its Facebook page, stating that at “99 years old, Central Middle School was older than penicillin."
