• Storm leaves 10,000-plus homes without power in Danville, topples trees in Champaign (news-gazette.com) — Severe storms Thursday night hit Georgetown hard, with nickel-sized hail and 60 mph winds reported around 9:37 p.m., and damage across southern Vermilion County. Nearby communities including Danville, Champaign, Farmer City, and Rantoul also saw widespread power outages, downed trees, and blocked roads as crews worked overnight to restore service and clear debris.
