• Ford Co. man sentenced to more prison time after threatening woman he tried kidnapping (wcia.com) — A woman in Gibson City who survived an attempted kidnapping later received a graphic threatening letter from the same man, leading to nearly two more years added to his federal prison time. Prosecutors said he repeatedly drove past her in Gibson City before hitting her with his car in 2020, and the new sentence will run consecutively to his existing 12-year term.
   

• Sentencing of ex-pharmacist reset for July, judge rules (fordcountychronicle.com) — A former Paxton pharmacist who lives in Gibson City had her felony drug sentencing delayed so she can finally complete a long-ordered psychological evaluation, and she remains free until a July 27 hearing. Investigators previously removed tens of thousands of controlled substances from her Gibson City home, leading to the suspension of her pharmacist license and the closure and foreclosure of her former pharmacy business.
