Prism Market brings flannel, music, virgos & local artists to Glen Ellyn Saturday, Sept. 5 (shawlocal.com) — Maplewood Public House in downtown Glen Ellyn will host the Prism Market: Flannel, Music & Virgos on Saturday, Sept. 5, from noon to 5 p.m. Residents can browse dozens of local artists and makers, from vinyl and cigar box guitars to jewelry, tarot, treats, and décor, at this free, family-friendly outdoor market held rain or shine.

2. Glen Ellyn Backyard BBQ Returns To Celebrate 18th Year (patch.com) — Glen Ellyn's signature Backyard BBQ returns Sept. 12 to the Duane Street Metra lot, with dozens of amateur teams competing, live bands all afternoon and evening, and a kids' area packed with activities. Food and drinks from local vendors will be for sale, and proceeds support Bridge Communities, giving residents a fun way to enjoy downtown while helping neighbors in need.

Glen Ellyn Park District to offer Free Fitness Week at Ackerman (shawlocal.com) — Glen Ellyn residents can work out for free at Ackerman Sports & Fitness Center Sept. 7–13, with full access to the fitness center and group classes. Non-members just need to register at the front desk and bring ID, making it an easy chance to sample more than 65 weekly classes and refresh your fitness routine close to home.

Glen Ellyn Park District to hold Glow in the Park Lantern Walk Sept. 11 (shawlocal.com subscription) — Lake Ellyn Park will glow Sept. 11 as the Glen Ellyn Park District hosts its free Glow in the Park Lantern Walk, supporting the NICU at Lurie Children's Hospital. Families can enjoy music, inflatables, lantern decorating, and a new 2K Glow Run/Walk, with lantern kits and food vendors on-site for a festive night by the lake.
