• Civic Memorial Student Wins Lewis and Clark's ‘You Have a Voice!' Speech Contest (riverbender.com) — A Civic Memorial High School dual credit student from Godfrey, Kimberly Price, just won first place and $100 in Lewis and Clark Community College’s “You Have a Voice!” humanities speech contest. Her speech, “Snowflakes,” drew on her unique life experiences, and she’ll be honored again at the college’s April 24 Honors Ceremony alongside other top student speakers.
• Annual Doubles Invite In Memory Of Former Alton Boys/Girls Tennis Coach Robert Logan Is Saturday, April 18, 2026 (riverbender.com) — Godfrey tennis fans can catch top high school doubles action this Saturday as the Robert Logan Invitational uses local courts alongside Alton sites. Twelve strong teams from Illinois and Missouri will compete from 9 a.m. to about 2:30 p.m., honoring beloved former Alton coach Robert Logan and bringing high-level play to nearby facilities.
