Deputies, crash investigators, and an air medical helicopter responded, flying the victim to a St. Louis hospital. Drivers in Godfrey are urged to avoid the scene and use alternate routes until the roadway reopens.

• Senator Harriss Announces More Than $323,000 In State Fire Equipment Grants For Local Departments (riverbender.com) — Godfrey’s Fire Protection District is set to receive $20,260 in state grant funding to buy needed small equipment for firefighters and first responders. The award is part of more than $323,000 coming to departments in Senator Erica Harriss’s district, aimed at improving emergency response and safety across communities like Godfrey, Alton, Wood River, and others.
