Man Injured In Accidental Shooting During Drug Deal: Authorities
The 18-year-old Round Lake man now faces charges following the March 12 incident.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — A Round Lake man was charged after he accidentally shot himself inside an apartment in Zion during what police say was a drug deal, according to reports.
The incident happened when the man was handling a firearm while drugs were being exchanged, and the gun discharged, injuring him at around 4 a.m. on March 12. Officers arrived and found evidence of illegal drugs at the scene, leading to the arrest of the injured man, who has been identified as Cinmyion D. Timmons, 18, of Round Lake, according to the Lake & McHenry Scanner.
He's charged with possession of a firearm while ineligible, a Class 3 felony, and four counts of aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon, a Class 4 felony.

Timmons, who was sent to the hospital after the gun, which authorities believe was in his pocket,went off has since been treated and released, according to reports.
Timmons remained in custody, according to online jail records.
