• Jerseyville OKs annexation for 20-acre solar project on Route 16 (myjournalcourier.com) — Jerseyville City Council has approved annexing 25 acres along Route 16 for a 20‑acre commercial solar farm expected to generate far more tax revenue than current farm use plus a $650,000 developer contribution. The project, which still requires a special-use permit, is projected to power about 800 homes, strengthen the local electric grid, and add pollinator-friendly plantings while avoiding new demands on city water or sewer services. 
• Carrollton woman gets 8 years after guilty plea to meth possession (bnd.com) — A Carrollton woman has been sentenced in Jersey County Circuit Court to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to a reduced meth possession charge, with a more serious trafficking count dropped. Her sentence, issued under a Jerseyville dateline, will run alongside earlier prison terms from Greene County convictions related to meth delivery and a look‑alike substance.
