More Courthouse Violence Breaks Out On 8th Floor

According to spokeswoman Matthews, at 10 a.m., two Court Security Officers were injured during a disturbance in Courtroom 801.
She said that while attempting to execute a remand arrest on Latrell Johnson, due to his failure to comply with court directives stemming from an unrelated domestic violence court case, Johnson tried to flee the courtroom.
Johnson began physically fighting with both Court Security Officers and two Joliet police officers helped place Johnson in handcuffs, she said. The Court Security officers suffered minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Johnson suffered a cut to his right hand and elbow and was treated on scene. Johnson was then charged with two counts of aggravated battery against a peace officer and taken to the Adult Detention Facility.
Johnson comes from Park Rose Avenue in Crest Hill and he's 22 years old. Unlike the other two, he is not being released from the Will County jail, the jail logs show.
